Thailand Travel Diary
Bangkok, Phuket & Phi Phi

Through My Eyes

The first time I stepped off the plane in Bangkok, the air hit me like a wave—hot, dense, full of aromas I couldn’t name but couldn’t stop chasing. Tuk-tuks zipped past, monks in orange robes crossed busy intersections, and the streets buzzed with a kind of chaos that felt strangely comforting. I had just landed in Thailand, and I already knew: this was going to be one of those trips.

My first night in Bangkok, I decided to go big. I booked a Chao Phraya River Dinner Cruise with live music, and honestly, it was magic. Floating past the glittering temples and skyscrapers while sipping a cold beer under the stars, with jazz playing in the background—it was my “this is real” moment.

The next morning, I went deep into the city’s heart. I joined a Grand Palace & Temples Tour, and it blew me away. Wat Pho, the Reclining Buddha, Grand Palace with its golden spires—everything felt sacred and surreal.

Walking barefoot on those ancient marble floors, I understood what people mean when they say “Bangkok is alive.”

After a few days, it was time to change pace. I flew south to Phuket, where the vibe shifted. The energy was still there—but it was slower, saltier, sun-kissed. I went from street noodles to sandy feet in under two hours.

On my second day, I joined the James Bond Island & Phang Nga Bay Tour with canoeing and snorkeling.

Paddling through sea caves and lagoons that looked straight out of a fantasy film, I felt like a kid on a real-life treasure hunt. The limestone cliffs, emerald water, and hidden coves—no camera could do it justice.

But if you’re chasing sunsets like I am, nothing beats the Luxury Sunset Catamaran Cruise in Phuket. Sailing into the golden hour with chill music, an open bar, and the sea breeze in my hair was the definition of “living the dream.” It was the kind of evening where you stop checking your phone, not because you forget, but because you don’t want to miss a single second.

Then came the grand finale: the Phi Phi Islands.

I took a speedboat and within an hour, I was surrounded by sheer cliffs and turquoise water. Phi Phi is what postcards aspire to be.

I signed up for a Snorkeling Tour around Maya Bay & Viking Cave, and I couldn’t believe what I saw underwater—bright coral gardens, schools of fish in neon colors, and silence that wraps around you like a soft blanket. The sea here is not just warm—it’s alive.

One of the most unforgettable parts of my trip? My first ever dive. I booked a Beginner’s Scuba Diving Experience around Phi Phi, and though I was nervous at first, once I was under, everything else disappeared. I swam with reef sharks, and yes—they were tiny and totally harmless—but my heart was pounding from the thrill. It’s a whole other world down there.

After two weeks across Bangkok, Phuket, and Phi Phi, I wasn’t ready to leave. Thailand didn’t just give me beautiful views—it gave me perspective. It taught me how to slow down, how to taste food properly, how to smile at strangers and mean it.

If you’re thinking about going—don’t hesitate. Book the flight. Say yes to the night cruise, the sunrise snorkeling, the sticky rice with mango from a random vendor. You don’t travel to Thailand. You feel it.
