Socrates Olive Oil - Olive oil tasting
Recommend it Activity
Our program begins just after Delphi, on the scenic road towards Itea, where we stop at a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the famous olive grove of Amfissa, the Gulf of Corinth, and the Peloponnese. This is an ideal spot for photography, and here we share with our guests the rich history and cultural significance of the ancient olive grove.

We then descend into the olive grove itself, where visitors have the chance to walk among centuries-old olive trees. We explain the traditional methods of olive cultivation and harvesting. Depending on the season (September to January), guests can even participate in the olive harvest, spreading a large cloth beneath the trees and collecting olives by hand, just as it has been done for generations.
The experience continues at our tasting venue in Itea. Here, guests are introduced to the art of olive oil tasting, learning how to properly evaluate olive oil and what to look for when purchasing high-quality products. Between tastings, we serve apples and bottled water to cleanse the palate and enhance the tasting experience.
Guests will enjoy sampling various olive oils paired with fresh bread, rusks, cucumber, tomato, and even chocolate – a surprising and delightful combination. In addition, we offer tastings of green olives, black olives, olive paste, and traditional feta cheese drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with oregano, offering a true taste of Greek flavors.
All the products featured during the tasting are available for purchase on site, allowing guests to take home a piece of their authentic Greek olive grove experience.
Join us for a memorable journey through history, tradition, and flavor.
